NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. – Three people have been arrested in what is being called one of the largest fentanyl busts in North Carolina history.         

Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office gang task force arrested Charles Batts, Wanda Moore and William McIntire during a raid at a home in Creekwood on Wednesday.

Authorities say they seized more than 12 pounds of fentanyl as well as drug paraphernalia, marijuana and heroin from the home.

They say that amount of fentanyl is worth more than $2 million and could produce hundreds of thousands of bags of the drug.
