What is left of Tropical Storm Chris continues to speed away from the east coast of the U.S. while we keep an eye on the Caribbean. Rough surf and strong rip currents continue to plague the coast of North Carolina even though the remnants of Chris are a long ways away. Conditions will continue to improve and great beach conditions are forecast as we heat toward the weekend.

Meanwhile the remnants of Beryl continue to barely hold together about 400 miles west-southwest of Bermuda. While little or no development is expected through Friday, environmental conditions could become more favorable this weekend as the system moves northward over warmer waters.

Otherwise quiet weather is expected across the region as we head into the weekend.
