After wrapping up the workweek with hot temperatures, more heat is in the forecast for the weekend.

• Hot weather expected
• Slight chance for showers
• Quiet across Atlantic Basin

High pressure will control our weather as we head into Saturday. This high will set the stage for above average temperatures, not only for the weekend but into early next week as well.

Through the weekend, most areas will stay dry but there is a very slight chance for a few afternoon and evening showers and storms, on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening.

We'll continue to see hot weather into the new week. Our chance of showers may increase slightly by the middle of next week.

In the tropics, all remains quiet across the Atlantic Basin.
