GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- Police are on the hunt for a man they say is responsible for shooting a woman at an intersection in Goldsboro Saturday afternoon.

  • DeMarcus Davis is considered "armed and dangerous" by officials.
  • He shot at Ashley Oates at the intersection of South Slocumb and Westbrook in Goldsbooro.
  • Davis and Oates were in a relationship and the shooting is related to a prior "domestic disturbance."

Officials have declared 33-year-old DeMarcus Davis “armed and dangerous” after they say he shot 34-year-old Ashley Oates at the intersection of South Slocumb and Westbrook roads.

Authorities say Davis and Oates were in a relationship and that the shooting stemmed from a prior domestic disturbance between the two. Oates was taken to the hospital where she is now listed in stable condition.

Davis is facing multiple charges including attempted murder.
