WILMINGTON, N.C. -- After seeing stormy weather on Monday, we saw a few more showers and isolated storms on Tuesday.

  • Mostly cloudy skies into early Wednesday morning
  • By Wednesday afternoon, skies will become partly cloudy with hotter daytime highs
  • A cold front will move into North Carolina by Thursday

This quieter weather pattern will continue into Wednesday.  With a warm front lifting to our north through the night, we'll see mostly cloudy skies into early Wednesday morning.

By Wednesday afternoon, skies will become partly cloudy with hotter daytime highs.  With the heat and humidity of the afternoon, we will see the chance for a few isolated showers and thunderstorms.  Any showers will quickly dissipate by Wednesday evening.

A cold front will move into North Carolina by Thursday.  This system will trigger a few showers and thunderstorms by Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening.

We are expecting a quieter weather pattern by the end of the week and for the start of the weekend.

The Wednesday beach forecast includes the slight chance for a few afternoon showers and storms with a very high UV Index.

In the tropics, a disturbance in the Caribbean is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center.  It currently has a 20 percent chance of development over the next three to five days.
