Wide receiver Jarius Wright is entering his first season in Carolina after signing with the team in free agency. The veteran has a leg up on his fellow pass-catchers. Wright played for Carolina's offensive coordinator Norv Turner in the past, so he is well versed in what Turner's offense can do.  Part of his job is to help others learn that system.

"That's one of my key roles," Wright told reporters after throwing out the first pitch at Wednesday's Charlotte Knights game. "Try to help everybody understand the routes, but [also] understand why he's calling some plays and why he's calling others. My role doing that has been really big."

Wright is joined by Torrey Smith as another receiver to sign in the off season.  The addition of first-round pick D.J. Moore, to go along with Devin Funchess, Curtis Samuel and Damiere Byrd, has given fans reason to feel good about the Panthers offense heading into the 2018 season.
