MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. -- A former doctor in Mount Holly, previously suspended for sexual misconduct allegations, is now being accused of prescribing drugs for sexual favors.

  • At least seven females have made claims
  • One woman had an opioid addiction
  • Sometimes children were in the room

Dr. Michael Smith is accused of doing this with at least seven female patients.

Documents show one of the women came to him for treatment with an opioid addiction. Smith is accused of increasing her medication and engaging in various acts, sometimes with her children in the room.

Smith is also accused of submitting claims to Medicaid and Medicare for thousands of dollars in fraudulent work.
