Most of our area saw clouds for part of Wednesday. Any linger clouds should dissipate during the night with areas of fog overnight. A lot more sun is in the Thursday forecast.

High pressure built into the region on Wednesday and high pressure will continue to control our weather into Thursday. With sunshine in the forecast, daytime highs will be running above average for early May.

A weak disturbance will cross North Carolina by late Thursday afternoon and evening. Clouds will increase by Thursday late afternoon and evening, by the evening, we are expecting the development of isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Any showers and storms will end late Thursday evening.

More sun is in the forecast for Friday with summer-like weather for the weekend.
