WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Sunday started off with ample sunshine, but we’ll see increasing clouds as the next storm system pushes moisture our way.

Expect daytime highs for Sunday a degree or two warmer then Saturday; from the low 60s near the coast to some mid 70s inland sections.

Skies cloud up overnight then rain will overspread the region by Monday afternoon. Rain will be likely Monday and all day Tuesday then tapering off on Wednesday. By the time we get to Wednesday evening we’ll see rainfall totals around 2 inches with a few areas seeing up to 3 inches. Sunshine returns by the end of the workweek.
