DURHAM, N.C. -- A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night after being thrown from his bike in Durham.

Officials say the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on the Durham Freeway just north of Duke Street.

 

Sherod Meadows, 29, of Raleigh, was riding with a group of friends when his motorcycle drifted off the left side of the road and hit the guardrail, according to police.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating the accident.
