BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Astros had their home opener Thursday night. Not the World Series champions in Houston but their Class A-Franchise, the Buies Creek Astros.

This season will be the final one of the two years the team was set to play their home games at Jim Perry Stadium at Campbell University.

Next year, the team will relocate to play in Fayetteville at a brand new downtown stadium.

People in this area have taken a lot of pride that a pro team has played ball here. They are a bit bittersweet that this will be the final season for the Astros to play there.

The team did have a successful home opener with a 6-3 win over the Salem Red Sox Thursday night.
