Showers and strong storms rumbled across parts of central and eastern North Carolina during the predawn hours Sunday. Some of the storms produced heavy rain and gusty winds and hail. Clouds will start the day Sunday, with a leftover showers possible across eastern North Carolina, but as the day progresses we should see more sunshine. Expect highs in the mid to upper 50s.

An unsettled weather pattern settles in for the first half of the workweek. Expect scattered showers and some thunderstorms Monday, and Monday night into Tuesday.

Wednesday could bring some snow mixing in with the rain across northern sections. As of now we are not looking at much accumulation, but it’s still a ways off and a lot can change between now and then so stay tuned for the latest.
