Warmer days are in the forecast as we head into the weekend. It will feel much more like spring by Sunday and Monday.

Many areas still dealing with the snow and in those areas much of the sun's energy will go into melting that snow instead of warming the air.

As the snow melts and a light southwest flow develops temperatures will be on the rise and everyone in eastern North Carolina will warm to at least the 50s Saturday afternoon. For areas around Wilmington and Jacksonville, highs near 60 are forecast. The mid 60s are likely by Sunday.

The start of new work week should be even warmer than this weekend. Monday's highs will top out in the upper 60s around southeastern North Carolina.

Our next chance for precipitation will come early Tuesday morning when a few rain showers should pass through the region.
