High pressure set the stage for sunshine and chilly temperatures as we started the new week.  We are forecasting a nice weather day on Tuesday before a chance for a little wintry precipitation enters the forecast.

Skies will be mostly clear tonight with cold overnight lows.  More sun is in the forecast for Tuesday with slightly below average daytime highs.

Clouds will increase by late Tuesday night as moisture moves back into the area.  With cold air in place, we have a chance of seeing light wintry precipitation develop.  Accumulations are expected to be light, mainly across the north parts of the Coastal Plain.  However, any snow and ice on local roads could cause travel issues on Wednesday, Wednesday night and early Thursday.  There could be changes in this wintry forecast.  We will monitor the forecast closely and make updates as needed.

After another chilly day on Thursday, we'll begin to see a milder temperature pattern from Friday into the upcoming weekend.
