TRENTON, N.C. -- Jones County Fair Grounds was packed with auctioneers and attendees on Saturday at the 46th Annual Trenton Volunteer Fire Department Auction.

Each year, the community event draws in more than 4,000 people.

With more than 1,000 items on the auction block, 5,000 items in the flea market and 46 vendors, there were plenty of things to choose from.

Another highlight, more than 5,000 pounds of barbecue pork and a bake sale.

The Trenton VFD raises about $30,000 at the event.

All proceeds go towards maintaining and buying equipment.
