After Wednesday's chilly temperatures and cold wind chills we will see afternoon highs back to where they should be this time of the year.

Look for highs ranging from near 50 along the Virginia border to mid 50s across along the Outer Banks and near 60 along the south coast under mostly sunny skies.

A few clouds move in tonight with lows in the mid 30s to mid 40s.

Friday will start off with more sunshine, but as the day progresses an area of low pressure will develop off shore bringing us and increase in clouds through the day. This will help to hold our afternoon highs back a little; expect afternoon highs in the low 50s.

The weekend is looking good with ample sunshine and warmer temperatures. By late Sunday we will start to see some clouds move in with the next system that will bring us a soggy start to the work week.
