SWANSBORO, N.C. -- An Onslow County teacher made his first appearance in court Wednesday after authorities say he had a sexual relationship with a student.
Authorities say they received a report that Zachary Daugherty had been in sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student at Swansboro High School.
An investigation found the relationship had spanned a four month period.
He expected back in court on Jan. 3.
