CHARLOTTE -- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education officially welcomed three new members Tuesday night.

After November’s election, districts 4, 5, and 6 now have new faces representing them. 

Carol Sawyer (district 4), Margaret Marshall (district 5) and Sean Strain (district 6) replaced Tom Tate, Paul Bailey and Eric Davis.

They now join 3 re-elected districts 1, 2, and 3 representatives, as well as 3 at-large members.

The board also held an election Monday night.

Mary McCray was re-elected chairperson, and Rhonda Lennon was elected vice chair, replacing Elyse Dashew.
