We're off to a much drier start to this week compared to the end of last week. Most of central North Carolina saw between one and two inches of rain from Wednesday through Saturday with Goldsboro seeing almost three inches:

  • Goldsboro -- 2.92"
  • Fayetteville -- 2.00"
  • Raleigh-Durham -- 1.88"
  • Rocky Mount-Wilson -- 1.74"
  • Chapel Hill -- 1.26"

There is no rain in sight here for Monday. We'll just see sunshine all day with highs in the low to mid 50s in the afternoon. Lows will drop to the mid 30s late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

A cold front will pass through the state tomorrow bringing partly sunny skies. The only precipitation in North Carolina with the front will occur in the mountains where snow showers are expected.  Central North Carolina will stay dry Tuesday with highs in the 50s.

Colder air will arrive behind the front Tuesday night. Low will drop to the low and mid 20s by sunrise Wednesday. It will also become breezy Tuesday as the front moves through the state. The breezy conditions through Wednesday morning will make for wind chills in the teens early Wednesday.
