It is still going to be a while before we see sunshine in eastern North Carolina. Rain will continue for a good part of Saturday. Much of the region will see anywhere from one to two and half inches of rain during that time.

The best chance to see any accumulation will be west and north of Durham. Greensboro could see one to three inches of snow while sections of the mountains could see up to five inches.

The showers should finally come to an end by mid or late morning Saturday in the Wilmington and Jacksonville area. It may take until midday or early afternoon for the rain to end along the Outer Banks and around Elizabeth City.

Another push of cold air across the state late Saturday into early Sunday will make for a sunny but cold forecast for Sunday.
