Raincoats and umbrella are still needed as we head into Friday. Most of eastern North Carolina will see another one to two inches of rain from Thursday night through Saturday afternoon.

As waves of low pressure move along a stationary front off our coast, look for the rain intensity to increase Thursday night and continue through most of the day Friday. That will be a cold rain Friday with temperatures holding in the low to mid 40s all day.

Some parts of central North Carolina will see the rain mix with or change to light snow Friday night. That does not appear likely for most of coastal North Carolina though. Rain may continue here through midday Saturday before coming to an end by the afternoon.

The rest of the weekend will be dry and cold. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 40s.
