After a period of very mild weather we are in for a cooler Saturday.

Clouds will thicken up overnight across eastern North Carolina and we'll see a lot more clouds and a 30 percent chance for spotty light showers through Saturday.

We'll see more clouds Saturday with a 30 percent chance for spotty light showers. The clouds and the spotty rain will keep us cooler with highs only in the upper 50s to low 60s by afternoon.

Look for more sunshine breaking through the clouds Sunday. Highs will warm to the mid 60s Sunday afternoon.

A warming trend will then continue into early next week. Highs in the low 70s are likely by Tuesday.

Our next good chance for rain will come Wednesday as a cold front moves through the state. Early model forecasts suggest around an inch to an inch-and-a-half of rain will be possible with the front.

Much colder air will arrive behind the front late next week.

Highs on Thursday and Friday should only top out in the low to mid 50s.

Colder than average temperatures will then continue through at least the middle of December.
