ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. -- In a press conference Friday afternoon, officials revealed 730 volunteers turned out Friday to help in the search for missing 3-year-old Mariah Woods. Some came from as far away from Raleigh.

Team ADAM, part of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, located in Alexandria, Virginia, helped to organize Friday's search operations.

Additionally, officials say an underwater sonar has been in use during the search as well as cadaver dogs.

The volunteers were separated into groups of 10 to search through rugged terrain filled with vines and thorns. Fortunately, authorities say, no one was injured during the search.

Officials had asked volunteers to wear protective clothing but to also make sure physically capable of working up to eight hours.

Officials also said Friday that the FBI is sending “items of interest” to Quantico for evaluation in the search for Mariah.

Mariah was last seen Sunday night when her mom put her to bed in their home on Dawson Cabin Road.

Her mom says Mariah woke up in the middle of the night and her boyfriend told her to go back to sleep. By the next morning, Mariah was missing.

Mariah is described as having brown hair and blue eyes. She weighs 30 pounds.

Thursday, an agent with the FBI said they found "items of interest" in the case. Those items were shipped to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, for priority testing. Agents, however, were not able to share information about what the items were.

Anyone with information on Mariah's whereabouts should contact authorities right away.
