Black Friday was off to a clear but cold start for those wishing to brave the crowds in hopes of scoring deals on holiday shopping.

However, high pressure moving to the north of North Carolina will allow for a nice warm up into the mid 50s to low 60s as plenty of sunshine continues through the afternoon.

Saturday will bring a bit of a change from the clear conditions central North Carolina has enjoyed for the start of the holiday weekend. A fast-moving cold front pushing in from the west will sweep the area Saturday afternoon.

With little in the way of moisture to work with, the front will be mainly dry, with only a few spotty showers possible across the higher terrain. The Piedmont and Triad will just see an uptick in cloud cover as the front moves through, with partly cloudy skies on tap through Saturday evening.

High pressure building in quickly behind the front Sunday will allow for a fast return of sunshine but will be coupled with cooler temperatures, with highs returning back to the mid 50s.
