Yes, rain is still in the forecast for part of this weekend. However, the showers will not affect most outdoor activities this weekend, as they will move quickly move through eastern North Carolina early Sunday morning.

All day Saturday will be dry. As the front approaches from the west, temperatures will warm from near 40 at sunrise to near 70 and the low 70s by 3 p.m.

It appears the showers will pass through eastern North Carolina between 4 and 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Since the showers will not last very long, much of the area should see around 0.1" of rain or less.

As cold air moves into the state behind the front, the high elevations of the North Carolina mountains could see a few snow showers Sunday morning. Here in eastern North Carolina though, sunshine will return by late morning or midday Sunday. After morning lows just in the 50s, temperatures will top out in the mid 60s Sunday afternoon on gusty northwest winds.

Lows will drop to the mid 30s late Sunday night into early Monday morning around Wilmington. Some inland areas may see temperatures near freezing around sunrise Monday.
