WILMINGTON, N.C. – Wilmington police are investigating a shooting at Jungle Rapids in the 5300 block of Oleander Drive that left a man dead.

Police say 19-year-old Christopher White was shot in the parking lot just before 7 p.m. Wednesday and taken to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Police believe the incident was not a random act and that the victim may have known the shooter. 

One witness told police they saw a male running from the parking lot, but no other suspect information was released.
