CHARLOTTE -- The Carolina Panthers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, 28 to 23.

However, the worst news of all may be about linebacker Luke Kuechly.

He was knocked out of the game with a possible concussion which could sideline him for upcoming games.

Coach Ron Rivera confirmed doctors are evaluating him.

"Only thing I can tell you is he's in the protocol. Just like it said when they put it up on the board. I don't know anything other than that," said Rivera.

Later on, Bill Voth with the Panthers said Defensive Coordinator Steve Wilks Kuechly "fine" and his normal self Friday.

If it is a concussion, it would be his third in the past three seasons.

Carolina will next play the Bears in Chicago on Oct. 22.
