NORTH CAROLINA -- On Tuesday, Hurricane Maria not only maintained its category 5 storm status but it grew in intensity.  The system is a very dangerous hurricane that is expected to continue to move northwestward and over Puerto Rico by Wednesday morning.

This weekend, Maria is forecast to move east of the Bahamas and weaken as the system encounters more wind shear.

After the weekend, there are a lot of questions as to Maria's track.  Many models have shown that the storm's center should stay off the coast of the United States but this far out, there is a chance that those models could change.
