RALEIGH, N.C. -- A thrilling, one of a kind artistic and acrobatics show is making its way to our state. Cirque de Soleil's Crystal is like no show you've probably ever seen before. It combines ice skating with dangerous, yet beautiful high flying stunts.

But it’s more than just a show as Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair found out, it’s an entire experience. She sat down with two of the show's stars, Lkhagva-Ochir who is a chair specialist, and Madeline Stammen, who plays the lead Crystal, for a look at the incredible talent featured on the ice.

The pair say Crystal pairs world-class skaters with acrobatic performers, showing off speed, athleticism, grace and ability as they defy the laws of gravity and try never-before-seen stunts. This is something completely new for Cirque du Soleil, taking a show to the ice, and these performers say it pays off.

Crystal follows the main character who looks into her own imagination and brings us along for the high-flying fun. This is a story of hope, determination, empowerment and self-confidence, something boys and girls need to hear now more than ever. And they’re mottoes these two young performers have lived by during their short, but already accomplished lives.

Lkhagva-Ochir began his stint in the circus by training for contortion, acrobatics, aerial and juggling at a very young age. And the training on the ice also started early for Stammen. She’s been skating since she can remember, taking part in competitions and performances along the way.

If you would like to come out and experience Crystal by Cirque du Soleil in person, the show runs at PNC Arena in Raleigh August 15 - 19.  Then it's back at the Greensboro Coliseum August 22 - 26.
