RALEIGH, N.C. — Have you ever had that dream and wondered, 'Could this mean something greater or could this be real?' Some in the medical field now believe the answer to that question is yes. They say there are documented reports of people who’ve dreamed about an illness, and then sought medical care to receive that diagnosis.

Dr. Larry Burk is the co-founder of Duke Integrative Medicine, and is on the staff of Duke Hospital's radiology department. But he is also now heading up a new study that involves dreams and breast cancer. He recently wrote a new book, Dreams That Can Save Your Life: Early Warning Signs of Cancer and Other Diseases.

In part 1 of Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair’s In Depth interview, Dr. Burk explains his unlikely intro path to studying dreams, how to better understand and remember your own dreams, and what we all can apply to our own lives and health.
