RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Ballet is proud to celebrate its 20th anniversary season, and just in time for Thanksgiving, it's launching two classic ballets, "Messiah" and "The Nutcracker."

One of Carolina Ballet's original iconic works, "Messiah," is taking the stage for Thanksgiving, Nov. 22- 26 at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. And this year, the dancers will perform to live music by the North Carolina Master Chorale.

In December, the annual holiday classic, "The Nutcracker," will take us on a journey to The Land of the Sweets at three different cities in the Triangle. The family tale will take place at UNC Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill Dec. 2 & 3, the DPAC in Durham Dec. 9 & 10, and at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, Dec. 15- 24.

This show will also feature beautiful choreography accompanied by elaborate scenery, a live symphony orchestra and grand illusions by world-renowned magician Rick Thomas. The Raleigh performances will feature principal dancer Jan Burkhard, who's been with Carolina Ballet for more than 12 years.

Tickets can be purchased for "Messiah" and "The Nutcracker" by calling 919-719-0900 or visiting the Carolina Ballet online at www.carolinaballet.com.
