WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. -- If you’re planning a trip to Wrightsville Beach, make sure to pay attention to the parking rates.

Starting March 1, the daily rate is going from $15 to $17. The town manager tells us these changes are needed to help out with things like beach nourishment. Businesses we spoke with say the prices are already too high and affects their employees who have to park on the island.

“Half of what they make is going back toward parking, which is really unfortunate. It’s tough. I think being a business owner down here trying to figure out how to get your employees to work,” said Sheldon Goodwin, Sweetwater Surf Shop.

The hourly rate will remain the same.
