ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The trees and wreaths are ready to spruce up homes for the holiday season.

"We have three Sundays with mostly trees and gift items and specialty fruits," said Jim Farr, director of the Rochester Public Market.

Hundreds of people browsed the market Sunday to see what local vendors had to offer. Some were looking for their Christmas trees already, possibly one brought in by a vendor from Newark.

"I'm a market girl. We are usually here almost every Saturday to shop and this is tradition,” said Lori Weed, of Greece. "We'll usually come the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we'll usually get our tree. Our house is already decorated. We just got to get the tree up."

The Public Market even offers carriage rides with Santa Claus. Children and their parents can ride with him for the next three Sundays. although the jolly old elf might stick around for a fourth as well.
