After another Gano field goal with 2:58 left in the third quarter made it 27-7 Carolina, Baltimore found the endzone on a Joe Flacco pass to Javorius Allen to cut the lead to 27-14.

Newton answered in the fourth quarter by engineering a nine-play, 85-yard drive that took 5:18 off the clock, capped by Newton's 12-yard touchdown run. They made the two-point conversion to make it a 33-14 Panthers lead.

Gano added his third field goal of the game on Carolina's next drive to make it 36-14.
