KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- The top draft pick of the Chicago White Sox has been promoted to the Class-A Kannapolis Intimidators.

Nick Madrigal was the 4th overall pick in the MLB Amateur Draft in June, and will make his debut with the Intimidators on Tuesday afternoon.

Madrigal and Oregon State just claimed the College World Series title. So he is no stranger to the heat, which is something he plans on managing now that he is a pro.

"I'm not really gonna think too much of it,” he said. “There have always been people throughout my life that have said there is pressure on me. But when I take the field, I'm just worried about playing the game."

Madrigal was the fourth overall pick in June's MLB amateur draft.
