CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Confidence is growing that our area will be hit hard by the weekend winter storm.

A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect Sunday morning through Monday evening.

Low pressure will track along the Gulf Coast then up the eastern seaboard with plenty of Gulf and Atlantic moisture feeding in to the colder air we will have in place.

It begins Saturday with some lighter precipitation but the heavier stuff moves in Sunday and continues through Monday

It's looking more like Charlotte and the surrounding areas will have at least some accumulating snow and may get as much as five inches. The Foothills and Mountains will be hit harder.

Computer models suggest there could be as much as a foot of snow there.

Get your preparations done now and be ready to spend a couple days at home and off the roads.

Tune in to your Weather on the Ones Forecast all day for the latest as we track this storm.
