Now, the Cornelius Police Department is participating in No Shave November, raising money for childhood cancer research.

Each officer pays $40 and gets to grow out their facial hair for the month of November. All the money will go to a foundation Thompson is creating in Jace’s honor to find a cure for DIPG.

"When I walk around and see all of the guys with their beards, it’s a comforting feeling that they support us and support Jace," she said.
