COLORADO – Fayetteville native, Chris Watts, the man who has admitted to killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

  • Chris Watts was sentenced for the murders of his pregnant wife and two daughters Monday.
  • Watts's plea spared him the death penalty.
  • Both Chris and Shanann Watts are from North Carolina. 

Watts pleaded guilty to multiple counts of first degree murder in order to avoid the death penalty.

He was visibly shaking while the judge handed down his sentence.

His wife, Shannan Watts, grew up in Aberdeen.

Watts previously stated that Shanann was the one who killed their daughters after he announced he was leaving her. His parents have continued to come to his defense.

Shanann and her two daughters were laid to rest in Aberdeen.

 

Watts reported the three missing before eventually confessing to the murders.
