CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The beautiful fall weekend we enjoyed across the Charlotte metro will lead into a quiet, mainly dry stretch of days leading into Thanksgiving. Our next best chance for rain won't arrive until the upcoming weekend.

Monday will feature a bit more cloud cover than Sunday as a low pressure system rolls up the North Carolina coast. Expect a decrease in clouds through Monday afternoon with highs in the mid 60s.

A cold front will approach from the west Monday night, producing some light rain showers in the mountains and mostly cloudy skies in the Piedmont. As the front works eastward and through the Piedmont by Tuesday morning, an isolated shower cannot be ruled out, but most, if not all, should stay dry (with the exception of the mountains). Clouds will clear by late Tuesday afternoon, leaving us with sunshine by Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will be cooler behind the front, with highs in the low to mid 50s for Wednesday and Thanksgiving.

Friday will stay mostly dry for Black Friday shoppers before rain returns Friday evening and continues into Saturday.
