RALEIGH, N.C. -- After four days of clouds, rain and cool temperatures, we finally broke into the sunshine on Friday.

  • More sunshine is in the forecast for the weekend
  • Cold front will cross Monday
  • Skies look mostly clear for Thanksgiving

Low pressure pulled away from the region late last night.  In its wake, high pressure built into the area and that gave us our first mostly sunny sky since last Sunday.  And the good news is, more of that sunshine is in the forecast for the weekend.

On Saturday, we'll see mostly sunny skies with milder afternoon highs.  We'll see pretty much the same forecast for Sunday as we wrap up the weekend.  But even with all that sun, daytime highs will continue to run below average for mid-November.

A cold front will cross North Carolina on Monday.  This system will produce a few clouds as it moves through with no chance of precipitation.

Looking at the Thanksgiving week forecast, skies look mostly clear with below average temperatures.

In the tropics, all remains quiet across the Atlantic Basin.
