DAVIDSON, N.C. – The North Carolina Spanish teacher who was reported missing for weeks is dead, according to a Facebook post from friends and family.

  • His body has been found

Patrick Braxton-Andrew, 34, was last seen Oct. 28 in Urique, Mexico. The post says the Davidson College graduate died the same day, "at the hands of a criminal organization that operates in the area where he was traveling." He was there visiting a family member.

According to a posting on the search Facebook page, Andrew's body has been found and family members will be able to bring him home soon.

People who knew Andrew say he died doing what he loved: traveling and meeting people. 

Andrew was a Spanish teacher at a private school in Mooresville. He joined the faculty at Woodlawn School in 2012, according to the school's website.

 
 
There was also a push for North Carolina lawmakers to assist with finding Andrew.
