CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- We did some digging into the criminal history of the man who allegedly abducted his daughter, resulting in an Amber Alert Sunday.

Maurice Knox has been arrested four times, since January 2017 and most of the charges are related to domestic violence.

According to Detention Center websites, Knox has been arrested three times in Mecklenburg County for violation of a domestic violence protective order, communicating threats and felonious restraint.

He was also arrested in October in Gaston County for another violation of a domestic violence protective order.

This all lead up to Sunday's Amber Alert and car chase that ended in Charlotte just outside of Uptown, when he allegedly abducted his daughter, Destiny Boykins. Knox now faces at least 10 charges, including domestic criminal trespass, assault on a female, felonious restraint and two counts of kidnapping.

When we last checked, Knox has not yet been booked into the Gaston County Detention center.

Gastonia Police say Knox could face more charges related to Sunday's crash if other agencies involved in the search choose to press charges.
