HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Reimels Family & Cosmetic Dentistry offered veterans free dental care Friday as a way to say thank you ahead of Veterans Day.

Veterans could get a cleaning, filling, extraction, and other work for no charge.

"For a lot of these people, it’s the first time they've seen the dentist in years and years, decades sometimes," Chad Paterra, a dentist at Reimels Family and Cosmetic Dentistry said.

More than 90 veterans received some kind of treatment and the veterans were very grateful.

"It’s a wonderful thing. I'm very blessed to be able to do this," Michael Herald Ponds, an Army National Guard Veteran said. He got a filling.
