GASTON COUNTY -- Children with learning disabilities and in wheelchairs now have the chance to enjoy the fun of a playground.
- The playground is located on Webb Street in Gastonia.
- It cost around $290,000.
- It is open to the public after 6 during the week and is open all day on the weekends.
For the past three years, Webb Street School has raised money for a wheelchair accessible playground, and it's now a reality.
The playground costs around $290,000 and was made possible by lots of support from the community.
“For our students, a playground is much more than just play, this is cognitive recess for them,” said Webb Street School Principal Kelli Howe.
The playground is open to the public after 6 during the week and is open all day on the weekends.
