BOONE, N.C. -- It was a frightening crime in Boone Monday night where two different people were held at gunpoint.

  • Two people were held at gunpoint in Boone.
  • One was carjacked.
  • Police are searching for the car, an SUV with an App State Sticker, a red adventure sticker and a sorority sticker. 

The suspect got away with one person's car. Now, police are searching for that vehicle.

Boone police say it happened at the Village of Meadowview apartments. Two different people were held at gun point in one of the parking lots.

Police say they they received two 911 calls within seconds of each other.

The suspect who was wearing a bandanna took one resident's keys after pointing a gun at them but when the suspect could not drive that victim'sstick vehicle, he opened the door to another.

This time, the victim was in her car and was told to get out. That suspect left the scene and has not been located yet.

They SUV has an App State sticker, a red adventure sticker and a sorority sticker on the back, which could help it to be identified.

“We have received multiple calls throughout the community where people are saying they have seen the suspect. They saw him multiple times in the community. We do have one local hotel where we believe the same suspect was hanging out in the lobby. The report that we got was the person matching the suspect’s description was acting suspicious and was there for hours, however no one called”

Police say they are in the process of reviewing surveillance cameras at that a local hotel, where they believe the suspect was hanging out in the lobby. They are asking if you see something suspicious around town to please contact them right away.
