HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- One person is in custody after a deadly shooting inside a Walmart in Huntersville. 

  • Jalyn Craig, 19, was shot and killed inside a Walmart in Huntersville.
  • Authorities say a person is in custody.
  • No names have been released. 

Police say the suspect shot and killed someone at around 6:00 p.m. Monday night in the produce department.

 

 

Authorities say that an argument inside the store turned into a fight and someone started shooting. 

Nineteen-year-old Jalyn Craig was killed in the incident. 

Four people were taken into custody and the Huntersville Police Department is working with the district attorney's office to decide whether any charges will be filed. 

An officer was doing a routine check when he heard the gun shot and nabbed the suspect.

In a statement, Walmart said: “We are deeply saddened by what has happened. We are thankful for the quick actions by the Huntersville Police Department and their arrest of those believed responsible for this crime."
