GRANITE FALLS, N.C. – Three burglars accused of zip-tying and duct taping a pregnant store clerk are still on the loose.

  • Incident happened Tuesday
  • The suspects also locked her in a bathroom
  • The three suspects have not been caught

It’s is a sight that assistant manager Don Kirby says makes him want to quit.

"It's one of the dangerous jobs around here," he said.

Three people entered the Tobacco to Go store Tuesday morning with a gun.

"They walked in the store with masks on she was cleaning the area over here and they come up behind her and said ‘this is a robbery,’" Kirby said.

After tying the clerk up, they locked her in the bathroom and barricaded the door with either cases or bottles soda. Kirby says the three robbers then emptied the cash register and took cartons of cigarettes before leaving. The clerk was able to push her way out of the bathroom.

Employees at the convenience store Saturday couldn't believe this could happen and say they want these three robbers behind bars soon.
