RALEIGH, N.C. -- East Wake Middle School was placed under a Code Red lockdown Friday morning.

Knightdale Police now say they were searching for an unidentified person spotted on campus, which prompted the lockdown.

Police completed 2-3 searches of the buildings and determined the subject was not there.

Knightdale Police are working on a plan to reunite children with their parents waiting outside campus.
