New funding is on the way to help prepare the Hudson Valley region for storms.

Governor Andrew Cuomo's office announced that almost $4 million will be going to a number of projects. The local storm resiliency fixes will address vulnerable roads, public facilities, and backup generators.

Rosendale's James Street is getting more than $1.5 million to help repair damage from Irene and Lee. Saugerties will receive $600,000 to replace existing culverts with better drainage systems. Woodstock is also getting more than $600K to help emergency responses.

Three other towns in Ulster and Orange counties will have projects funded.
