ARCHDALE, N.C. -- Boy Scouts prepare for the unexpected. But it doesn't make what happened less surprising for Troop 19 in Archdale.

  • Troop 19's trailer was stolen this week
  • They lost $8,000 worth of equipment
  • Anyone with info should call Archdale police at 336-434-3134

Their troop trailer was stolen earlier in the week gone with $8,000 of Scout gear including tents and solar-charging panels.

"It is, just to have to start over, this, this troop has been in existence for, in excess of, 55 years. And this is a compilation of equipment from all those years. Now we have to start over. And our biggest fundraising is through Boy Scout popcorn, through the sales of popcorn. But that doesn't, that doesn't cover it," said Assistant Scout Manager Ross Conover.

The stolen vehicle is a tow-along silver trailer with troop decals on the side.

Anyone with information is asked to call Archdale Police at 336-434-3134.

In the meantime, the Scouts have a GoFundMe page up to hopefully recoup some of their losses.
